Former Lagos State Commissioner of Agriculture and Co-operatives, Kaoli Olusanya, has expressedÂ satisfaction with the organisation, officiating and standard of play in the ongoing Governor BabatundeÂ Raji Fashola Football Competition.
Olusanya, who single-handedly sponsored the tournament, explained that the good governance of FasholaÂ in Lagos State inspired him to sponsor the tourney in Ward C4 to boost grassrootsÂ footballÂ andÂ foster unity and peace among people in beshe community and Ikorodu at large.
â€œGovernor Fashola Cup can effectively serve as a platform to discover talented footballers and promoteÂ sporting relationship in our community. â€œWe have also benefited immensely from the FasholaÂ administration in Lagos State.Â The ongoing rehabilitation ofÂ Ibeshe, Ikorodu Express road is oneÂ that brought joy to us. Such responsible leadership needs to be appreciated by all,â€ he said.
In matches played so far, Abuja defeated Ibeshe Titun 2-0, Insurance lost 0-1 to Olu-Odo, Oshorun pipÂ Guild Close 1-0 while Itesiwaju hammered Alogba 3-2.
As the quarter finals of the competition holding inÂ Kith& Kin Secondary School Premises, Ibeshe,Â Ikorodu, Lagos StateÂ Â draw nearer, Olusanya enjoined all players andÂ officials to maintain highÂ standard of discipline throughout the competition.
