Former Lagos State Commissioner of Agriculture and Co-operatives, Kaoli Olusanya, has expressed satisfaction with the organisation, officiating and standard of play in the ongoing Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola Football Competition.
Olusanya, who single-handedly sponsored the tournament, explained that the good governance of Fashola in Lagos State inspired him to sponsor the tourney in Ward C4 to boost grassroots football and foster unity and peace among people in beshe community and Ikorodu at large.
“Governor Fashola Cup can effectively serve as a platform to discover talented footballers and promote sporting relationship in our community. “We have also benefited immensely from the Fashola administration in Lagos State. The ongoing rehabilitation of Ibeshe, Ikorodu Express road is one that brought joy to us. Such responsible leadership needs to be appreciated by all,†he said.
In matches played so far, Abuja defeated Ibeshe Titun 2-0, Insurance lost 0-1 to Olu-Odo, Oshorun pip Guild Close 1-0 while Itesiwaju hammered Alogba 3-2.
As the quarter finals of the competition holding in Kith& Kin Secondary School Premises, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos State  draw nearer, Olusanya enjoined all players and officials to maintain high standard of discipline throughout the competition.
