Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, representing Lagos West Senatorial District and the state assistant publicity secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Chief Funsho Ologunde, have criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for what they called his unpresidential comments on the ACN, at a rally in Ibadan, Oyo State recently.
Jonathan said at the rally that the PDP will wrest power from the “rascals†governing Lagos, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states.
Speaking with Political Platform on the issue, GOS said, “Such a statement coming from Mr. President is unfortunate. Not only that it is unpresidential, it is also uncouth.
“We are not surprised, we will soon come up with a collection of his statements since he assumed office, which shows that he still needs to undergo some orientation on public response to issues.
“He has embarrassed the exalted position of the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as per using the word ‘rascal’.
“As far as the issue of winning the Southwest is concerned, the electorate are now wiser, they know those who are deceiving them and those who are truly serving them,†he said.
According to the state assistant publicity secretary of the ACN, Chief Funsho Ologunde, “Well his comment describing ACN leaders as rascals is the language of gutter boys not expected from somebody of the status of the president.
His other statement that they will win the Southwest is an ambition which is not realiseable by the PDP because the AC N is not sleeping, the people now know the difference between the party that is really for the development of the state and ready to move it to greater heights and the party that has taken us backward for 12 years of its misrule,†said Ologunde.
