Substnadrad Coldrooms Worry Fish Sellers' Union

The United Fish Sellers Association of Nigeria has expressed its readiness to combat those operating  substandard coldrooms in Lagos.

In a statement signed by the association’s General Secretary, Nureni Akiode, members of the union said  they will assist the government to ensure healthy living of citizens by sensitising all fish sellers  in the state on the need to maintain hygiene at all times.

According to the statement, “we shall send our monitoring team to all coldroom operators in the state  to solicit their support in order to ensure that none of our members engage or pratronise illegal  substandard coldrooms.

“After visitations, we shall release the list of standard cold rooms to our members after which we  will take necessary actions against any erring operator.”
