House Girl Charged With N.29m Theft

A sales girl, Bose Oshikomaya, 23, has been arraigned before Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ojodu, Lagos for stealing her boss’ money.

The suspect said she started working for Madam Grace Newton since August last year as a sales girl and truly, she always complains of her money missing.

However, Bose claimed that she has never, for once, stolen her mistress’s money.

The suspect complained that Madam Newton was paying her salaries as at when due.

The girl’s mistress, Grace Newton, alleged that the suspect stole the sum of N291,800 between September and November 2010 at Shop 15, Binukunu Market, Ojota, Lagos State.

Police prosecutor arraigned Bose on one- count charge of stealing.

The police said the offence was punishable under section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap. 17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

When the charge was read to her, Bose pleaded not guilty.

The trial magistrate, Mrs. Aje Afunwa, admitted her on bail in the sum of N20,000 and one surety in like sum.

The case has been adjourned.
