Trial Of Suspected Iranian Arms Importer Begins
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos this afternoon commenced the trial of Iranian suspect, Hazim Aghajani and his Nigerian collaborator, Abass Usman Jega for allegedly importing 13 containers of arms to Nigeria.
At the opening of the trial today, the prosecuting counsel, Mrs. Olufemi Fatunde called the first prosecution witness, Mr. Charles Opekor who tendered the statement made by the Iranian.
He also tendered the three statements made by Usman Jega.
The trial judge, Justice Okechukwu Okeke, however, adjourned till tomorrow for the continuation of the trial.
