Bauchi Govt. Awards Contracts
The Bauchi State Ministry of Rural Development awarded contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of 220 kilometres of roads in the last three years under its rural infrastructure development programme.
The Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Mahiru Maiwada, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Bauchi that the contracts included those for the 30 kilometres Gamawa-Allah Garno-Sabon Gari Roads as well as the 65-kilometre Gita-Miya-Ganjuwa-Soro Road.
Maiwada, who declined to disclose the cost of the projects, said they covered the construction of the 21-kilometre Rishi-Rahama-Tama-Hayin Kanawa Road as well as the rehabilitation of the 100-kilometre Maga Gumau-Rahama-Tama-Hayin Kanawa Roads.
He said construction of the four-kilometre Alkaleri-Gwaram Road was among those undertaken during the period.
He said the ministry also provided various social amenities to rural dwellers in the state, which had improved their socio-economic activities.
