Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) on Wednesday said it had declared a week of fasting and prayers for a successful campaign across the nation.

Mr Yinka Odumakin, spokesman to the CPC Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, said in a statement that the prayers would precede the flag off of its presidential campaign.

“The round of prayers, which started on Monday Feb. 14, will be rounded off with prayers in mosques on Friday and in churches on Sunday,” it said.

It noted that the highpoints of the prayers include thanking God for the mercies shown to Buhari and his associates and for the successful transformation of a political movement into a party.

“Prayers are also to be offered for God’s protection for all candidates running on its platform and supporters and for Nigeria in general,” it added.

The CPC said the campaign programme would be unfolded at the end of the prayer sessions.
