Badore Gets Mini Water Works

Thousands of residents in Badore area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria can now enjoy potable water as the Lagos State government has delivered a mini water works that will supply two million gallons of water per day to the area.

The Badore Mini Water Works is the ninth of the 15 Mini Water Works the state government has promised to deliver to Lagosians.

Speaking at the commissioning of the mini water works, Governor Babatunde Fashola said the project will greatly benefit communities in the area.

He said through its superiority of ideas, the present administration in Lagos had delivered a 12.5 MW Independent Power station that services Iju and Adiyan water works and has ensured that the water being produced everyday rose from 40 million to 105 million gallons now.

“In every place where we have provided the water works, there is a reticulation of five kilometres where pipes have already been laid. What this means is that if you live within five kilometres of any of the water works, you already have a water pipeline laid across to your residence, which only needs to be connected after the necessary formalities.

“Part of the reasons why we are doing this is because water, not only helps us to fulfil our commitment to the people through preventive healthcare, but has assisted in increasing the number of people that live long and do not have the need to go to hospitals,” he stated.

However, Fashola urged the people to be wary of politicians who would approach them now promising them several things

“Do not vote for them. They have run out of ideas. The Action Congress of Nigeria is the only party of ideas. Our solutions are clear, our delivery on our promises is practical and visible for everyone to see,” he said.

General Manager, Lagos Water Corporation, Mrs Ayodele Fatusin said the office had embarked on the construction of 15 new waterworks throughout the state, adding that out of the 15 waterworks, this was the ninth that was being commissioned in the last 12 months.
