Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau said on Thursday that the state would give President Goodluck Jonathan bloc votes in the April presidential election.

Jang, who gave the assurance during the PDP presidential campaign rally in Jos, said Plateau was “100 per cent PDP”.

An elated Jang, who had danced to the podium to deliver an address, said that what happened at the PDP National Convention was about to repeat itself.

“Your coming here for this campaign rally is just to fulfil all righteousness because even without coming here to campaign, we have already made up our mind to vote for you,” Jang said.

The Governor said President Jonathan was already aware of the Plateau problems and was already taking steps to address all of them.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly Istifanus Mwansat said the state would give the President two million votes out of the 2.1 million voters that registered.

Mwansat said: “PDP is a product of Plateau, conceived, birthed and developed in the state,” adding that only 100,000 of the two million votes would be shared by others.

The Speaker described Jonathan’s presence in Plateau as a home coming, adding that his victory in the state was not in doubt.

He said other parties were “labourers who keep toiling without wages” and urged them to join the PDP.

Earlier, the Plateau PDP Chairman, Mr Haruna Dabin, described Jonathan as “a good product that sells itself”.

“You don’t labour to advertise a good product; a good product sells itself; so is it with Jonathan/Sambo ticket in the coming presidential election,” he said.

He said the people of Plateau had made their preference for PDP candidates and assured them that the state was ready to support them.
