Tricycle Official Beaten To Death
An official of the tricycle union, Keke Owners And Riders Association of Nigeria, KORAN, has been beaten to death.
The deceased, Tunde Olabisi, 47, until his tragic death, was living on 38, Old Ota Road, Ikoro, Abule Egba, Lagos.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Tunde was attacked during a scuffle between members of KORAN and the 3-Wheelers Association at Ile Epo, Ekoro and Abule Egba.
Movement of people and vehicles was disrupted during the clash and this led to the intervention of the Baale of Ekoro, who invited the chairmen of the two unions for dialogue.
During the meeting, investigations revealed that the warring factions resumed fighting and in the process a vulcaniser hit Tunde with a hard object and he died.
P.M.NEWS gathered that policemen at Abule Egba are on the trail of the vulcaniser who escaped after the incident.
Residents of the area have also condemned the activities of the tricycle owners and appealed to the police to call them to order.
“Most of these people are thugs. They cause trouble here everyday and disrupt movement of the people and vehicles. The state government should wade in and remove them from here, ” a resident who identified himself as Dele Ogundina told P.M.NEWS.
