Daewoo Wins Contract To Build Gas Plant For Shell Nigeria

Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co Ltd has secured a $250 million order to build a gas processing facility in Nigeria, the South Korean company said on Sunday.

The order, which would take 37 months for completion, was placed by Royal Dutch Shell’s Nigerian venture, Shell Petroleum Development Co, as part of the Nigerian government’s domestic gas master plan, Daewoo said in a statement.

Shell last year commissioned another gas and oil plant at Gbaran –Ubie in Bayelsa state.

When fully operational, the Gbaran -Ubie plant will produce 1b standard cubic feet of gas and more than 70,000 barrels of oil per day.
