Sylva Glad With Ocean Boys’ Revival
Ocean Boys chairman, Ngo Nathaniel Slyva, is pleased with the way his team has muscled its way out of the drop zone in the Nigeria Premier League.
The former champions started the present campaign on a shaky note and faithful fans had to painfully wait till week six before celebrating the club’s first victory in the league courtesy of Charles Omokaro’s late goals against travelling Niger Tornadoes.
A scandalous 5-2 defeat at Enugu Rangers compounded the woes of former coach, Kennedy Okogba, who lost his job to assistant Larry Eceli.
Interestingly, Eceli has since changed the club’s fortunes.
The team wormed its way into the hearts of the fans after ending the unbeaten run of leaders, Dolphins, and last Wednesday’s 4-1 annihilation of Juth, which moved the club to 12th on the log with 20 points from 15 matches.
“Most people had already tipped us for relegation because of the way we started this term, but all that is history now. The team has improved tremendously and there are signs of better times ahead,†Sylva told SuperSport.com.
