Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, flagged off his campaign this morning near the Ake Palace, Abeokuta, South-West Nigeria.
The campaign ground was crowded with party faithful and supporters who trooped out enmass.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS at the rally, ACN stalwart in Ogun State, Otunba Giwa Biodun Onanuga said the party was ready to liberate the people of the state from PDP’s control.
He noted that most popular politicians in the state have deserted the PDP and have pitched their tent with the ACN, asking: “if the president of Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s group, Bobakeye, is not with him, who again remain in the party?â€
Also speaking with our correspondent, a House of Representatives candidate for Ijebu Central, Mr. Kehinde Odeleye described the ACN as the party to beat in Ogun State.
Odeleye maintained that with the calibre of the people in the ACN, the party was set to sweep the polls. He expressed optimism that Senator Amosun will be sworn in as Ogun State governor on 29 May, 2011.
Chairman of the ACN in the South-West zone, Mr. Ayo Afolabi said good things are about happening in Ogun State, adding that the political tide that swept off the PDP out of Ekiti and Osun states will soon come to Ogun.
Afolabi appealed to the party’s supporters to come out enmass and vote out the PDP in Ogun in the April polls.
ACN leaders in the state, the South-West zone and national leaders attended the rally. Popular Fuji musician, Adewale Ayuba, the Bonsue Fuji king was also on hand to thrill the audience with his music.
