Councillors of the Apapa-Iganmu LCDA under the leadership of Hon. Olatunbosun Bello have denied that the chairman of the council, Hon. Adesola Adedayo, was ever impeached.

According to a press release sent to P.M.NEWS yesterday, jointly signed by the Council Leader, Hon. Bello Ganiyu Olatunbosun and all other council members, there was no crisis in the council and nobody was removed.

The release in part stated that: “It has been brought to our notice that our LCDA chairman, Dr. Samuel Adesola Adedayo, has been impeached and that the said letter of impeachment has been widely circulated to media houses and Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, chieftains.

“We, the undersigned, are the LCDA councillors. We want to state with every emphasis that there was never a sitting where the council chairman was accused of misappropriation neither was there a sitting of the House where an impeachment procedure was initiated or concluded against him. The letterhead papers of the council as well as our signatures were forged by our detractors and people who never meant well for our LCDA.

The councillors added that: “Both the LCDA chairman and all the councillors are in perfect harmony and working together for the progress of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA as a whole.”
