Senator Campaigns For Jonathan In Zamfara

Sen. Sahabi Ya’u Kaura has assured the people of Zamfara of President Goodluck Jonathan’s commitment toward improving the wellbeing of all Nigerians.

Kaura gave the assurance on Monday at the commencement of his campaign for a second term as Senator representing Kauran Namoda in Zamfara.

He said that Jonathan had been working hard to make Nigeria a country where corporate national interest would take precedence over petty differences.

Citing the presence of Federal Government in his constituency, Kaura said that apart from the two primary health centres constructed through the MDGs, Jonathan’s administration had awarded contract for the construction of Kauran Namoda water works at the cost of N670 million.

He urged the people to reciprocate the PDP gesture by voting for the party in the April elections.

According to the senator, PDP is the only party that had articulated programmes aimed at improving the lot of Nigerian citizens.

Kaura, who donated 10 vehicles to Gov. Mahmud Shinkafi’s campaign organisation, advised the people not to be deceived by politicians who had been “making mouth-watering promises” to secure their votes.

He said the PDP administration had done enough to secure another mandate by the people of the state to rule for another four years.

In his address on the occasion, the governor said development projects executed by his administration in the last four years had raised the status of the state.

“We are proud to say before anybody that what we have done to our people within our first tenure in office is more then what the last administration did throughout its eight years in office,” Shinkafi said.
