Uzbekistan Hold Flying Eagles In Turkey
Despite uncertainties over the Libya 2011 U-20 African Youth Championship, AYC, due to the political logjam in that country, reports from Turkey say Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are on course with their preparation for the tournament slated for next month.

This afternoon in Turkey, the Nigerian team were held to 2-2 draw by the Uzbekistan U-23 Olympic team, who gave the Flying Eagles a tough friendly match. It was their first friendly match of a 25-day training camp in Antalya, Turkey.
Omo Ojabu shot Nigeria into the lead in the 28th minute but his goal did not last the first half as their opponents from Uzbekistan equalized before the break through a corner kick.
Pacy winger Terry Envoh hit target again for Nigeria in the 78th minute but Usbekistan scored their equalizer in the 86th minute, ending the match 2-2 at regulation time.
“It was a very good match for my team. I hope we can get more matches like this. They gave us a tough time and it’s good for our playersâ€, said Coach John Obuh.
The Flying Eagles are expected to begin their campaign in the 17th African Youth Championship starting on March 18 with a game against the reigning champions of the world and perennial rivals, Ghana.
