Commuters Advised To Use Designated Motor Parks

Mr Abiodun Agoro, Lagos State coordinator of the Road Accident Health Insurance Scheme (RAHIS), on Tuesday advised inter- state commuters against boarding buses outside designated parks.

Agoro told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that it was important for passengers to board buses from designated parks in order to fill their names on the manifest in case of any eventuality.

NAN reports that the passengers’ manifest is a form with names, addresses and phone numbers of inter-state passengers and their next-of- kins.

Agoro said that the passengers’ manifest helped emergency officials in providing first aid treatment to accident victims before contacting their next of kins.

He said that under the RAHIS, accident victims were entitled to free healthcare of less than N25,000 while their next-of-kin get an undisclosed financial compensation in case of death.

He advised passengers to have confidence in filling their details in the manifest, assuring that such personal details were held in high confidence.
