Latter Rain Assembly Donates To Agege Community

To ensure that residents of the host community are not only fed with words of God but also benefit from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, recently donated an electricity generating set, seven ceiling fans and some sports kits to Oba Komolafe Sanni Memorial Youths/Sports Centre, Agege, Lagos.

According to Pastor Ike Christian, who stood in for Pastor Tunde Bakare, the senior pastor of the church, said the donation was part of its desire to add value to the community and enhance the development of the youths in the community.

Pastor Christian said: “Being able to add value to our host community, having interest in the welfare and development of our youths, are important to us; because if you do not build the youths and you go and build structures, the youths you did not build would surely destroy the structure you built. That is why we intend to help the youths of this community in terms of skill and talent acquisition.”

Mr. Segun Adeniyi, a director in the Ministry of Youths, Sports and Social Welfare, who was at the event commended the Latter Rain Assembly for the gesture and said it would go a long way in equipping the youths of the community.

“This is a gesture worth emulating by other religious bodies, corporate bodies and well-meaning Nigerians. Governance belongs to every one of us and we should join hands and support the Lagos State government to equip the youths through sports and skill acquisition,” Adeniyi stated

The church also organised career and vocational talks for youths of the community, while free medical and legal services were also offered to members of the community.
