Osaze: I’ll Help West Brom Survive Relegation

With former Liverpool gaffer, Roy Hodgson, now at the helms of affairs in struggling Premiership side, West Bromwich Albion, WBA, the spirit in camp has been enliven, while hope and despair are in the air, dividing the players into two.

But Super Eagles forward Osaze Odemwigie is in the first group with high expectations that he would definitely help his club survive the drop.

Hodgson started his revival mission at West Brom with a 1-1 draw in the derby against Wolves, thanks to a stunning goal from Carlos Vela in stoppage time. This  to Odemwingie is a sign that they can still swim out of troubled waters.

Currently placed 17 on the table after 27 games with 28 points in the Premier League, WestBrom are within the drop zone but they still have to up their game if they want to remain in the lucrative League.

Odemwingie, joined the club from Russia’s Locomotiv Moscow and was immediately thrown into the fray by former coach of the side, Roberto Di Matheo, but the arrival of Hodgson is a welcomed delight.

The former Lille of France striker, who has nine goals to his credit in an interview with Brila FM, spoke about his joy over Hodgson’s arrival and what it portends for the struggling side.

He hinted in the interview that the new coach has settled down and the players have formed a unified front, where they have all decided to do everything within their powers not to swimming in the relegation water to the the lower division.

Responding to the question on his goal scoring ability, he argued that it is not about him scoring the goals but his joy would be if they can survive from going down.

The light skinned goal poacher reflected on the outcome of the derby and their chances of remaining in the Premier League, saying “both teams have been playing the derby for over 100 years and it is the first time the two teams are playing in the Premier League. I think it  was a memorable one and I’m glad with the outcome of the match.”

On the secret of how he settled down in England, he attributed it to the number of Nigerians playing in the Premier League.
