Robbers Kill Bank Customer, Flee With N2m

An armed robbery gang yesterday attacked a bank customer, Salihu Sani and his friend Mu’miminu Isiaka and snatched  the N2 million they had withdrawn from a bank along Port Harcourt/Aba expressway.

Sources told P.M.NEWS that the incident happened in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital at about 11.20 a.m.

The robbers had trailed the victims from the bank.

Eyewitnesses told P.M.NEWS that the three-man gang operating in a white Jetta saloon car shot their victims;  killing Salihu Sani and zoomed off with their loot.

Isiaka, who is in a critical condition, is presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt.

Rita Innoma-Abbey, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command not only confirmed the incident, but said that “the police were promptly alerted about the incident. A patrol team from Woji Divisional Police Station, Port Harcourt, which was already at alert intercepted the members of gang and recovered the Jetta car.”

The PPRO said further: “One of the members of the gang who tried to escape was fatally wounded, while efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing two others.”
