Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, James Abiodun Faleke, has charged the council’s football teams of wards participating in the Arole Inter-Ward Football Competition tagged Ikeja United Challenge Cup to play according to the rules and regulations of the game.
Faleke, said at the opening match between Onigbongbo Ward A and Ojodu Ward F played last Friday at the Government Technical College, Agidingbin, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Faleke, a candidate for the House of Representatives, Ikeja Federal Constituency under Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, urged the participating wards not to see the competition as a do or die affair. He said the purpose of the three week-tourney is to engage youths through sports.
Meanwhile, Onigbongbo Ward A defeated Ojodu Ward F in the opening match watched by the sponsor, council officials and ACN party stalwarts.
Actions continue today when Ikeja Ward B confront Ojodu Ward C, and Onigbongbo Ward D slug it out against Ojodu Ward B.
