Hon. Morufudeen Adeola Adefolabi has kicked out recalcitrant members of his political group within the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Royal Alliance of Nigeria, for being hell bent on working against the party over its choice of candidates for both the federal and state assembly seats in Ifako Ijaiye.
This happened after a meeting of the group was deadlocked. Several attempts to pacify the aggrieved members fell on deaf ears.
They also vowed to work against the interest of the party by pledging their alliance to Akande Nureni, who had earlier defected to the Labour Party and picked the state assembly ticket for the April polls.
The visibly worried Hon. Adeola Adefolabi after pacifying them to no avail, sent them out of the meeting.
Speaking with Political Platform shortly after the meeting, he said, “This is a group of which I am the head. They said they were disappointed by the decision of the party and that they can’t continue to stay in the party anymore. They have pledged their loyalty to the Labour Party. So I have to allow them go and not destroy our group for us because that will amount to anti party activity.
“There is no aluta in politics except in tertiary institutions. Therefore, I wish them well and for those that are still with us, they should be steadfast and work for the success of the party at the polls,†he said.
