A member of the House of Representatives, representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, Hon. Dayo Bush-Alebiosu has commissioned solar-powered street lights in the area.
The lawmaker erected solar-powered street lights on Bush Street in Anthony-Mende area of Ikeja at the request of the people following the security challenges posed by darkness.
The lawmaker, who is also the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN flagbearer in the 2 April House of Representatives election in Kosofe explained that with the provision of solar-powered street lights to the area, nightlife and economic activities will gradually return as shops and other business concerns can now extend their closing hours from 6 p.m. to late in the evening.
He also predicted total victory for the ACN in the April polls because people of the state can see the performance of the administration in Lagos State and will not be deceived by the antics of other political parties who cannot match the scorecard of the ACN-controlled government in Lagos State.
A resident of Anthony area, Bolaji Awosanya described the timing of the project as appropriate, adding that with the facility, people of the area and road users can pass through the area late in the night.
An ACN chieftain in Kosofe, Alhaji Seidu Braimoh commended the lawmaker for embarking on several life changing projects in Kosofe, adding that if all elected representatives could borrow a leaf from him, they would be complementing the giant strides of Governor Babatunde Fashola in the state.
Those in attendance included traditional rulers from Mende and Anthony areas of Kosofe, ACN stalwarts, clergymen, as well as numerous youths’ associations.
