Man Docked For Stealing A Dog
A 28-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Dele Adu, on Monday appeared before an Akure Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a dog.
He was alleged to have committed the offence in company of two others who are still at large.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Martins Olowofeso, told the court that the dog, valued at about N10,000 belonged to one Vincent Effengbe.
He alleged that the accused had gone to the residence of the owner of the dog with a cutlass, with the intent to harm him under the pretext of participating in the Ogun festival.
The accused was also accused of being in possession of one blue Haojue Suzuki motorcycle registered IE50FMG – A2002284, which he could not account for.
Adu pleaded not guilty to the charges, and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum by the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Johnson Adelegan, who adjourned the case till March 18.
