The National Conscience Party of Nigeria, NCP candidate for the House of Representatives (Surulere Constituency II), Barrister Olorunmbe Abayomi Apata has declared that his party is ahead of other parties in terms of pedigree, ideas and strategies.
Apata who disclosed this in an interview with P.M.NEWS after a fund raising in Lagos said unlike other parties, NCP is not prone to crisis.
He expressed confidence that the NCP would win the election as far as his constituency is concerned. “Compared to other parties, I think we are far ahead of them, in terms of our pedigree, ideas, strategies and we are not prone to any crisis like all other parties. We are going to win in Surulere constituency 11 because we are credible,†he stressed.
The NCP candidate also expressed confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct free and fair elections, adding that with the measures put in place by the electoral body, it should be able to conduct free and fair elections.
“To a certain extent, I came out to have an election that should be free and fair considering the pedigree of the Chairman of INEC. I also believe that he should stand by his words for the election to be free and fair,” he said.
On thuggery, Akpata explained that his party has been able to educate its members to shun all forms of violence and be orderly during and after the elections. “We have been able to enlighten our supporters during our campaign to deviate from violence; from election rigging. From our campaign, you will realise that we are of very good pedigree,” he said.
Speaking on his vision for the people of Surulere Constituency II if elected to represent them, Barrister Abayomi said he intended using his knowledge of law to improve the standard of living of the people.
“I intend to use my knowledge of the law, my training as a lawyer to enhance the standard of living of residents of Surulere and bring the dividends of democracy to them. I will use the instrumentality of the law to improve their lives in areas of security and contribute to the enactment of laws to improve their lives.
