The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has impounded 5,000 bill boards and sign posts that were illegally erected in the metropolis by their owners.
The General Manager of the authority, Mr. Husseini Ibrahim, who made the announcement, noted with regret that hundreds of bill boards and sign posts were being indiscriminately erected daily in contravention of the environmental law.
He warned the public against indiscriminate erection of sign posts and bill boards in the state, stressing that anyone found contravening the law would be sactioned. Ibrahim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)that letters had been sent to bill boards and sign posts owners through APCON, urging them to comply with their renewal processes. He said applications for the erection of bill boards and sign posts should follow due process.
