Police Recover Arms, Car From Robbery Suspects

The police in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested two robbery suspects and recovered a Mazda car marked KS391EKY which they used for their robbery operation.

 

According to a police source, the anti-robbery patrol team attached to Badagry Police Station was on a routine patrol when they ran into the robbers around Agric bus stop along Lagos-Badagry Expressway. On sighting the police patrol van, the robbers opened fire and there was an exchange of gunfire.

 

P.M.NEWS gathered that when the robbers could not withstand the fire power of the police, they took to their heels and abandoned the Mazda car.

 

Two of the robbers were not lucky as they were arrested. Items recovered from them at the time of their arrest include one locally made pistol, two live cartridges and the Mazda car.

 

The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba for discreet investigation.

 

The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, a Deputy Suprintendent of Police, DSP has warned robbers operating in the state to relocate elsewhere or be fished out and dealth with.

 

He advised Lagosians to always report any suspicious movement in their areas to the police.
