Failure of the football team of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, LCDA to raise their games at the just concluded first phase of the Lagos Junior League cost them the ticket to the Premier League.
Coach of the team, Ayo Oluwasanmi told P.M.Sports has his players played below expectations, which cost them a place in the Premier League of the youth football championship.
Oluwasanmi said that his team could not win their first three matches in the beginning of the Lagos Junior League, as this affected their rating in their group.
He disclosed that the players were also not properly motivated compare to the other teams.
The team ended on the 7th their group.
“It was not a good outing for us because we did not qualify for the Premier League.Our target is to qualify for the Premier League. Unfortunately, my boyes were motivated to give their best in the competition,†Oluwasanmi said.
He disclosed that throughout their campaign in the Lagos Junior League, the players and coaching crews were not motivated financially which affected the morale of the team.
He urged Egbe-Idimu’s council boss, Waheed Bello, to assist the team in order to do well in future competition.
