Woman Dies In Labour, Deceased’s Daughter Lost, Found
A 24-year-old pregnant woman has lost her life during childbirth.
The deceased, Nneka Jenifer Ojo, mother of a four- year-old girl (Oluwaseyifunmi) until her sudden death resided with her husband, Ojo Ologun, a bus driver in a room apartment at Oto Railway Causeway, Ebute-metta, Lagos.
P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that on Thursday last week, she went into labour and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Bariga, and died an hour later as doctors were battling to save her life and that of her baby. After her death her four-year-old daughter suddenly disappeared from their house.
According to Mr. Musibau Agbodemu, the CDA chairman, Otto, Ilogbo Extension, Lagos Mailand, “Since the woman died last Thursday, we have combed everywhere searching for her daughter. When we could not trace the little girl, we reported the matter at Denton Police Station. We later found the missing girl in the custody of Joy Njoku, Nkechi Okojie, Akpan Baby and Dike Ojukwu.”
“The case has been transferred to Iponri Police Division and the DPO has instructed that the girl should be in the custody of one Mr. Moruf Afolabi of 5, Otto Ilogbo Extension, pending her mother’s burial,” Agbodemu said, adding, “These people had a bad intention, if not ,why must they pick another person’s child without her father’s consent?
