Baale Cup: Handsworth Utd Vow To Defeat Empire
Handsworth Football Club of Ikeja have vowed to defeat Empire Football Club when both sides clash in tomorrow’s Baale Omole Football Competition.
The encounter, which holds at Skypower, opposite Police College, Ikeja, Lagos State promises to be explosive.
Handsworth lost their opening match against Merciful Tree, while Empire FC are yet to play their opening game. Handsworth can only qualify if they win their remaining two matches.
Olasunkanmi Tajudeen, Team Manager of Handsworth, said his team must win the match if they want to remain in the competition.
“We lost 0-1 to Merciful Tree in the opening match. We need to be cautious and play a purposeful football in our next match. We cannot afford to lose our second game because my players are aware of the consequences. I believe we shall come out victorious,†he said.
In other results, Junior Milan defeated Adealu FC 1-0, Lapero FC lost 0-1 to Spartan while Havilah humbled Ikeja United 3-1.
Action continues on Saturday, when Smart Striker battle Spartan FC, while Merciful will tackle Sirdon FC in the last match of the day
Match coordinator, Prince Wale Atiba, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the players during and after the matches. He urged them to continue to be ambassadors of their clubs.
