Batola Cup: Damilola Taylor Plot Santos’ Fall

Damilola Taylor will hand have their hands full when they confront Santos Football Club at the U-15 Monsuru Alao Owolabi Soccer Championship.

The encounter is scheduled for expected to hold this evening at the Young Military Barrack, Yaba, Lagos State.

A victory for Damilola Taylor will book them a place in the quarter final after defeating Oluwatobi FC 3-2 in the opening match.

Santos FC, who lost 0-1 to Ade-Oba FC in their opening match, will go all out to defeat their opponents in today’s encounter, otherwise they will be out of the competition.

Speaking ahead of today’s battle, Damilola Taylor Coach, Sulaiman Ahmed, asserted that he cannot afford to lose to their opponents, saying anything short of victory will be a disappointment.

Ahmed predicted a tough match, but noted that his team are ready to slug it out with their opponents. He boasted that the performance of his team in the opening was a clear indication that they will go far in the tournament.

“Santos FC cannot stop us from winning today’s match. My players are in high spirits and ready to take their opponents to the cleaners. We are not in this competition for jamboree but to win the trophy,” he said.

Action continues tomorrow when Starlet United will battle Stricker United while Oto Babe will confront Coker Fc in the second match of the day. Starlet United was defeated by Oto Babe 1-2 in their previous match.

Match Coordinator, Yusuf Banire, expressed satisfaction with the organisation and officiating of the competition. He urged the teams to remain focus and shun hooliganism.

Meanwhile, Damilola Taylor have secured a  sponsorship deal with Olabathrooms company, an agent of Twyford company in London. Chairman of Olabthrooms, Oladeji Olatemiju, said he is ready to sponsor all the activities of  the academy throughout this year.
