Call has been made to all youths to avoid being used by politicians to perpetrate election fraud during the April polls.

The call was made by the National President of the Ahmadiyya Youth Association, Nigeria, AYAN, Alhaji Abdul Lateef Oladele at a briefing on sensitization and awareness of Nigerian youths on the coming general elections.

“As the general elections approach, I want to implore Nigerian youths to desist from political thuggery and avoid being used by some politicians who are keen on dying in office to perpetrate any evil act. Our responsibility as youth is to ensure that those that attained the age of 18 and above come out and vote enmasse for any candidate of their choice and stay back to monitor the votes, so as not to allow riggers to cart away their votes. Our votes is our power and we must exercise our right without fear or favour,” Oladele said.

The AYAN President also advised political office seekers to have the fear of God and desist from the attitude of do-or-die politics being practised by many politicians in the country, adding: ”Only God puts one in power and removes one also.”

“Let me seize this opportunity to inform our politicians who believe in do-or-die politics to desist. This year’s election will either make or mar this country. It is only God that puts someone in power and removes one, so, they should thread softly and take everything as it comes. If you donâ€t win today, wait till tomorrow, you may win,” Oladele advised.
