The chairman of Lekki Phase 1 Residents Association, Lekki, Eti-Osa, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Mr. Wale Akala, has commended the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Maroko Police Division, CSP Ukeveuwen Ukoh for his efforts at providing security for the residents, and thanked him for his pro-active and security measures in combating crimes and criminal activities on the Lekki axis.

He also lauded the DPO and his men for ensuring that the last voter registration exercise was peaceful and successful in the area.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS in their office on Admiralty Road, Lekki, Akala said: “Though we have our internal security measures in the estate, the DPO of Maroko Police Division has been living up to expectations through constant patrols by his men of all the nooks and crannies of Lekki axis to ensure maximum security for the residents.

In a similar development, the office of the state CID, Panti, Yaba, was agog last week Thursday when members of the police rank and file, including stakeholders held a party in honour of the former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Solomon Iriase who was promoted to CP and transferred to Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The ceremony was held for the DC in appreciation of the achievements he recorded at the state CID, Panti, Yaba.

Speaking at the ceremony, Iriase said: “I thank God I am not leaving the state CID, Panti Yaba, the way I met it. During my tenure at the command for 16 months, I tried my best to put into action what I learnt when I was the principal staff officer to three IGPs.

“I hope the rank and file who benefited from my innovation at the command would replicate anywhere they are posted to improve and move the Nigeria Police Force forward,” he stated.
