The Chairman of Coker-Aguda Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Hon. Alliu Kazeem, narrowly escaped death on Tuesday night when a gunman suspected to be an assassin stormed his house.

He was, however, not at home when the man came for him.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS at his Aguda residence on Tuesday, he said that on the day of the incident he had gone out with some of his friends and did not return home that night, adding that on getting home the following morning, he discovered that his door had been broken and there were people all over the place.

According to him, the surveillance camera at his home showed the assassin, armed with a gun. He broke the padlock on the gate, and entered the main building, and not able to gain entry, he broke the ceiling in the passage and came out directly into his room, where he met nobody. He then went downstairs again, as if to report to someone, and when he came back into the house, he changed his clothes and ransacked the house, packed jewellery and cash, including some handsets.

He also took the handset of one of the chairman’s children who was fast asleep in the sitting room, but did not wake him up.

Kazeem stated that he remains resolute and steadfast to his ambition to represent the people, and said no amount of threats could deter him.
