Governor Aliyu Escapes Death

Niger state government has vowed to fish out those behind the bomb explosion that killed at least nine persons and left many in critical condition in Suleja local government of Niger state today.

Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu made this known when he visited the Victims in Suleja General hospital.

The governor, who described the attack as criminal and evil, said he has informed President Goodluck Jonathan and security agencies in the country about the attack and his government will do all it takes to bring those behind the attack to book.

“I have informed all concerned at the federal level that we will do all we could to bring the evil people to book,” said Governor Aliyu.

What was described as a bomb by the police exploded today at a rally organised by Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta to flag off his campaign at Government Secondary School  Suleja.

Though police gave conflicting figures on the number of people killed in the attack, eye witness confirmed to PMNEWS that bodies were seen being picked up by the police shortly after the attack.

“No one can tell how it happened but we just heard a strong sound and suddenly we saw people running, some soaked in blood,” said an eye witness.

No one or group has claimed responsibility yet.
