Chief Coach of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Adebayo Ademisoye, says the just concluded Lagos Junior League has really helped the youth to show more interest in the round leather game.

Ademisoye whose council placed sixth in Group C table told P.M.Sports that without the Lagos Junior League, a lot of youths would have become social miscreants popularly called area boys. He said some players have been brought to the limelight through the Lagos Junior League and charged the council chairmen to reward their teams financially so as to boost the morale of the players.

“I want to thank the Lagos State Government for this laudable project, which really helped our youth in the state. I can say that a lot of coaches and players have benefited from the Lagos Junior League,” he said.

He advised the organisers to improve on the area of officiating and punish any teams that use ineligible players for the Lagos Junior League.

“The organisers should not spare any team that use mercenaries in the League. A lot of appeals are yet to be decided as some local council registered ineligible players at the just concluded Lagos Junior League,” he said
