Curfew As Itire Buries Oro-cult Chief Priest

A dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed on Itire town and its environs on Tuesday, 8 March, 2011, as the community buries the Abore (Chief Priest of Oro cult).

A statement issued by the palace of the Onitire of Itire,  Oba Lateef Abayomi Dauda, said the curfew will hold from 10 p.m till 5 a.m.

The statement asked all residents and indegenes of Itire to cooperate with the palace as it is traditionally obligatory to carry out such ritual when such important personality passes on.

Chief Mumuni died on Monday 28 February, 2011 and burial rites commenced immediately.

The finally burial ceremony has however been fixed for Tuesday 3 March, 2011.

He is survived by wives, children, grandchildren and greatgrand children.
