The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday announced the arrest of a 40-year-old female suspect for alleged drug trafficking.

NDLEA spokesman, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said in a statement that the suspect was arrested while attempting to export 13kg of methamphetamine to Congo through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

According to Ofoyeju, the drug was found in a sack concealed inside a bag containing some shirts.

He said that the suspect had reportedly told the narcotic officers that the drug was fertiliser.

Ofoyeju quoted the NDLEA Airport Commander, Alhaji Hamza Umar, as saying that more people were connected with the export.

“We hope to make more arrests on the case. Investigation is on-going and I am optimistic,” Ofoyeju said.

He said that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
