Coach of Rangers of Enugu, Alphonsus Dike, praised the performance of his side after they held home team, Sharks to a 1-1 draw in Port Harcourt at the weekend.
After the pulsating match, Dike said that the club is aiming to get into the continental positions.
“That is our aim and who says we can’t also win the league.
“That is the target of every big team and we can’t stop fighting till the end,†he said.
Sharks never wanted the game to hold in the first place because seven of their first team players were unavailable for varying reasons.
However, the Nigeria Premier League board turned down their request for a postponement and Enugu Rangers, smelling blood, decided to go for the kill.
“Everyone knows what the problem was today, we had too many key players missing and against a side as experienced as Rangers, most of the young players we brought in just couldn’t cope with the intensity,†a flustered Amapakabo told SuperSport.com.
