Lagos state Governor Babatunde Fashol (SAN) has  denied rumours that he was sponsoring the candidates of Labour Party (LP) for the general elections in the state.

He also denied any alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and LP for the purpose of April elections, pointing out that the rumours were in bad faith.

Fashola said those peddling the falsehood were doing so to mislead the members of Action Congress of Nigeria (AC N) in the state, urging them to be vigilant and weary of their antics.The governor addressed a massive crowd of party supporters at Ikorodu Division in continuation of his mobilisation of voters for the general elections.Party leaders from Amuwo Odofin, Ojo, Iba, Olorunda, and Badagry wekcomed the governor whose chopper touched the campaign ground at noon.He paid tribute to the  past and present leaders of the division, including the late Pa Senu Hundeyin, Aholu Menu Toyi of Badagry, Oba Babatunde Akran, Pa Akanni Suarau, and Pa Remi Durosinmi,  hailing their devotion to progressive ideals.Fashola said that he does not require the support of opposition parties to win the forth-coming elections, challenging the PDP and LP leaders to tender the evidence of alliance talks.Chiding PDP leaders for lack of focus and failed promises, he urged Lagosians to disregard the comment by the PDP governorship candidate, Dr Ade Dosunmu, that PDP would take care of them after the elections.Fashola predicted failure for the PDP at the polls, saying that the PDP federal government has not impressed the people of the state in the last 12 years.The governor promised to speed up the construction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in the interest of commerce and welfare of the people.He also promised to continue to boost tourism in the division to increase employment opportunities in the sector.
