2 Staff Of Anti-Jonathan Group Arrested

The secretariat of the Northern Poltical Leaders Forum, the group that attempted to resist the emergence of President Goodluck Jonathan as the candidate of the ruling party, today announced the arrest of two members of staff.

According to a statement,  the State Security Service  invited and detained the two members  -  Bello Abdulkadir and Farouk Bibi Farouk.

“This is in bad faith and tells a lie to President Goodluck Jonathan’s attempt for rapprochement with Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF” , the statement said.

Yesterday, President Jonathan campaigned in Sokoto, one of the states that did not vote for him at the primary elections in January. The state is a strong backer of the NPLF cause that a candidate of the North should be president post May 2011, in line with PDP’s zoning policy.
