3,025 Bag TASUED Degrees

The Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun, in Odogbolu Local Governemnt area of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria today graduated 3,025 students at its second convocation ceremony.

A breakdown of the figure shows that the College of Science and Management Sciences has the highest number  graduands of 1,092 followed by College of Applied Education and Vocational Technology with 871 graduands.

In all, 12 graduands made first class degrees with the College of Science and Information Technology having six students, while 936 finished with second class upper degrees; 784 others made second class lower division; 281 others recorded third class and 12 graduands made ordinary pass.

During the convocation, an honourary doctorate degree was conferred on Dr. Sonny Folarin Kuku, the Olorgun of Ijebuland.

Some graduands also bagged post Graduate Diploma in Education.

The convocation ceremony was chaired by the chairman of  the university’s Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor, Professor Olatunji Yinusa Oyeneye, while the convocation lecture was delivered by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Goodswill Akpabio.

The best student from College of  Applied Education and Vocational Technology is Miss Adekunle Grace Aderonke while the College of Humanity produced Bamgbose Gabriel Sunday as the best student.

The overall best student who also emerged the best in theCollege of Science and Information Technology is Gbadamosi Muyideen Remilekun.

The Ogun State Governor , Otunba Gbenga Daniel and the university trust foundation president, Prof.Adebayo Adedeji and some other dignitaries were in attendance.

The Chancellor of the university, general Olatunji Olurin, is also expected at the ceremony.
