Ekiti Indigenes Set To Move State Forward

A group of Ekiti indigenes called Igbimo Ure Ekiti, IUE, is set to put Ekiti State on the fast lane of socio-economic development.

To this effect, it has set up a committee to work out the details and come out with strategic recommendations to the state government.

The group expressed serious concern at the deterioration in the quality of education at all levels in Ekiti State. “This was more disheartening as the Ekiti people were until now regarded as the reservoir of highly cerebral people,” it added.

A statement signed by Dr. Christiana Funke Adebayo and Sir Remi Omotoso, Public Relations Officer and General Secretary, respectively, stated that the group will submit a position paper on how to improve the quality of education in the state to a committee set up recently by the state government.

IUE also deliberated on state and local governments equity participation in industrialisation and revitalisation of agriculture, especially in the production of cocoa, coffee and rice.
