In its determination to win Eredo Local Council Development Area, Epe, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, members of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday embarked on a house-to-house campaign in the area.

The convener of Action Congress of Nigeria Volunteer Group, AVG, Hon. Adeniyi Kunle Shamsideen, described the initiative as novel in this part of the world, adding that it was meant to send a signal to everybody in the area that ACN members were united and ready to vote for all their candidates in the area.

“AVG was formed to mobilise all ACN members and our sympathisers in Eredo LCDA to come out en masse and vote for all ACN candidates in the elections. We have over 2,000 members and we enjoy the goodwill of members of the society.

“We are embarking on a house-to-house campaign to mobilise all our members and to tell them to put the past behind them by coming out massively to vote for all ACN candidates in the April polls. Our aim is to achieve total victory for ACN in the coming polls,” Adeniyi stated.

He eulogised Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for his achievements in the state, stressing that this will be used to convince the people of Eredo to vote for him and all ACN candidates.

Hon. Adeniyi also took journalists to the abandoned water works at Eredo and assured residents that the ACN administration would resuscitate it by next year during the second term administration of Governor Fashola.

“This water works was constructed during the administration of Alhaji Lateef Jakande to serve the people of this community, Epe, and even Ijebu-Ode but after the Jakande administration subsequent military administrations in the state abandoned it. Now, our people go to the streams to fetch water but even some of the streams have dried up. This is why we are going to make sure that the ACN administration rehabilitates it. It is a promise because the ACN government is a responsible one,” he assured.
