Olusola Saraki Canvases Support For His Daughter
The Second Republic Senate leader, Dr. Olusola Saraki has pleaded with the people of Kwara State, especially those from Ilorin Emirate to save him from disgrace by voting for his daughter and the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, governorship candidate in the April election, Senator Gbemisola Saraki.

The elder Saraki popularly known as ‘Olooye’ made the plea in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during the official flag off of ACPN’s campaign in Kwara Central yesterday.
The event took place at the frontage of the palace of the Emir of Ilorin,Oja-Oba,Ilorin. The Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari who had traveled out of the state since Saturday could not attend the event.
None of his high Chiefs (Baloguns) and the Chief Imam of Ilorin were present at the ceremony.
Saraki in an emotion laden voice lamented that those he had helped to attain greatness were the ones now condemning him for fielding his daughter as a governorship candidate.
He added: “ I have always been there for Ilorin and Kwara progress all my life. But what I am seeing, hearing, and witnessing today are insults and abuses from all those very junior to me in all respects.
“I don’t have more than one three bedroom flat each in Lagos and Ilorin and only renting one in Abuja. Yet, those now abusing me were those who have immensely benefited from my good will and now have mansions in choice cities of the world.â€
Saraki told his supporters that he was never a card carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, because the party had failed to separate itself from personality, saying that this has brought about indiscipline among PDP members.
Presenting ACPN’s candidates to his supporters, the elder statesman asked them rhetorically whether he should rest assured that they would ensure the victory of the candidates at all levels during the April polls.
He also appealed to his supporters to shun violence but to engage in campaign of issues.
Earlier the ACPN governorship candidate, Senator Gbemisola Saraki promised to actualise the vision of her father for the state through the implementation of programmes and policies that would put smiles on the faces of Kwarans if elected as the governor of the state next month.
