The vice presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said that the rallies President Goodluck Jonathan has embarked on are for him just to say goodbye to Nigerians since CPC will win the presidential election in April.

The serving overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly stated this at his church yesterday in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

According to him, “Jonathan is just having a farewell party all over the country. This administration is clueless. They don’t have anything to offer Nigerians. This election is not a contest between political parties. It is a contest between honesty and dishonesty; between those who keep promises and those who don’t; between experience and lucky men.”

On the failure of Vice President Namadi Sambo to attend the Vice Presidential debate organised by NN24 media organisation last Friday, Pastor Bakare said Sambo was afraid.

“They said they won’t attend because they didn’t know the questions that would be asked. If they are doing the right thing, why were they afraid of the debate?”

He said the CPC will take the Southwest by storm, beginning with Oyo State today and Lagos tomorrow just as it has done in the north with overwhelming support by the people.

Pastor Bakare said this year’s election will be a different kind and applauded the modified open secret ballot method of voting adopted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

He though this method would ensure credible election, he warned that anyone who rigs the election will do so at his own peril.
