Sosan stated that the contributions of women to development and international peace and security cannot be over-emphasized, explaining that women had played crucial roles in this regard and remain the change agents that would guarantee a secure and peaceful society.
With the theme: Equal Access to Education, Training on Science and Technology: Pathway to Decent Work for Women, the 2011 International Womenâ€
Recognising the role of science and technology in the development of 21st century society, Sosan urged parents to encourage their children to work hard in school and assist them to develop interest in science subjects to make them relevant in the ongoing global technological development agenda.

She urged women to continue to work for the development of women by fighting all forms of discrimination and age-long stereotypes that had worked against them in the past.
