NURTW Boss Hails Adefulire’s Adoption
Chairman of the Saudi Phase One unit of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi, Lagos, Chief Fatai Adeshina a.k.a. Oguns, has hailed the adoption of Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, as running mate to Governor Babatunde Fashola, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate for Lagos State in the forthcoming elections, describing it as a welcome develoment and honour well deserved.
Adeshina, a staunch member of the ACN in Alimoso area of the state, said having had a close relationship with Orelope-Adefulire for many years, he is convinced that the woman would play an important role in making the ‘Centre of Excellence’ realise its dream of a mega city.
Citing examples from Orelope-Adefulire’s antecedents in the WAPA ministry she has headed for two different administrations in the state since 1999, Adeshina, who is also the Akeweje of Egbeda Kingdom, said he is convinced that the woman will join hands with her boss to better the lives of Lagosians.
Describing her as a humble and compassionate woman, Adeshina, who doubles as vice chairman, Odi-Olowo branch of NURTW, said Orelope-Adefulire is usually dedicated and committed to serving humanity at all levels.
“I have known her for over 22 years and can say that her compassion to serve her compatriots knows no bounds. She is Godly and also trustworthy, having been tested and trusted,†he said, adding that Governor Fashola and the ACN elders have done well by giving her the mandate to further serve the people in a bigger capacity.
