More twists have been added to the threat of the Lagos State Pools Agents Association, LASPAA to boycott the coming election in Lagos State.

P.M News gathered that the central executives of the association have vowed to lobby other trade associations that also have complaints of neglect by the government of Babatunde Raji Fashola to boycott the election.

The thinking of the executives of the LASPAA is that with the neglect, the associations won’t be difficult to be convinced to join their plan not to vote for Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the April elections.

According to the president of the association, Sammy Ogunyebo, many trade associations have not really enjoyed the dividends of democracy despite paying so much to the government.

“That is why we are planning to mobilise other associations to boycott the election if the government fails to meet our demands. Our demand is simple, Governor Fashola should call the chairman of Lagos State Inland Revenue Services, Mr. Babatunde Fowler, to order. He should attend to our proposal which has since been on his table a long time ago. Governor Fashola is doing well in the state, but some of his aides are preventing some associations like LASPAA from enjoying the dividends of democracy,” Sammy said.

“We wrote to the governor a long time ago on some demands which will not only benefit the pools agents, but also the promoters and the government.

“The office of the governor and the Chief of Staff received our letter and the governor gave a directive to some of his aides to do something about it few months ago, but up till now, nothing has happened. The officials have even been refusing to take our calls.
