Lagos Speaker Donates Campaign Buses To ACN
Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has donated 15 Nissan buses to the Lagos State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
The donation, which is aimed for campaigns and post campaign activities, was done at the party secretariat on ACME Road, Ogba, Ikeja, recently.
Handing over the vehicles to the party on behalf of the Speaker, Mr. Olusegun Olusesi, his Chief of Staff, said the donation was a demonstration of the Speaker’s loyalty and commitment to the party.
He further stated that the buses would be useful to convey party members to campaign venues and for other purposes, promising that more assistance would be rendered to the party with time.
Defending the Speaker’s movement from Epe to Ikeja in order to contest for another term at the House of Assembly, Olusesi explained that Ikuforiji’s coming to Ikeja was the party’s decision.
He, however, disclosed that the Speaker has been enjoying wonderful reception since he joined ACN in Ikeja, saying that people in the area are happy and optimistic that he will give them better representation in the Assembly.
“ACN has a lot to offer the people than any other party. The Speaker’s assistance to the party, whose financial demand is enormous now, is timely.
“He did this to show his loyalty and commitment to the party and I can tell you that the Speaker will still make more donations as time goes on,†Olusesi stated, adding that his principal is “fully on ground and will win†in Ikeja Constituency 1, while describing as rumour, the alleged gang up against him.
Receiving the keys of the buses, ACN Chairman in the state, Chief Oladele Ajomale, thanked the Speaker for the donation, promising that the party will make good use of the vehicles.
He said the Speaker has always “distinguished himself as a disciplined and generous party man.†  Speaking on the chance of ACN in the coming elections, Ajomale declared that the party would trounce other parties, adding that the performance of the Babatunde Fashola-led government in Lagos is the talisman of the party.
